Toy Robot Progress
This is what I have so far. I mentioned in my previous artwork post that I'm making this merely as my room-studio decoration. I have nothing on the wall, and I want the place to look a little more like a studio.
The idea of a robot came from (modern life's adaptability), inspired by ideas given to me by Midjourney. I could have browsed the internet and looked for a photo, until I realized, what's the point here? Who is going to judge me? Therefore, I started generating Midjourney robots until I found one that resembled the toy robot I wanted for my wall.
Now, I won't be satisfied with a simple color-jet print; I really wanted this to look handmade, so that's why I'm taking the trouble of making a reproduction.
All in all, it's 2025, and obtaining AI references essentially means the same as accessing images from the internet or capturing images of things around you with a camera. For me, it's all the same. It's still a creative process. The beauty here is that I can still use a desk, real paper, colors, and other tools and feel I'm a resourceful, modern artist.
Also, I wanted to acknowledge this, and this is very revealing for me: Upon observing the details on the AI generation, I realized they looked absolutely artistic and professional, in spite of the typical AI shape inaccuracies.
In a way, AI through Midjourney is actually helping me to improve my pencil color and fine markers technique. AI is teaching me how it's done. Oh, wow, but it's true, and I love having an artificial art assistant. It's beautiful. I feel like I truly live in the future.
